A Litter on the way!

I have very, VERY good news to announce! We decided to breed QT one last time after her incredibly nice previous litters. However, we wanted to try to breed her using 10 year old frozen semen, to a real nice older dog. This is always a tricky prospect, requiring extremely careful timing, and then "TCI" implantation of the semen.

We had a girl who has been a "fertile Myrtle", we had semen that was looking good under the microscope, and we have an absolutely incredible repro team at Slade, and we knew that if any team could get her pregnant, it was them. BUT... there are no guarantees with any breeding, and that holds true exponentially in a breeding like this.

Well, we had our ultrasound today, and we have five healthy puppies on board!!! At least two of these puppies, a girl and a boy, if all goes well, will be held back for our breeding program. But that means two, possibly three of these puppies, assuming all goes well, will be available. So to give everyone an equal chance of getting their applications in, I will be opening applications tomorrow at 8PM. I will remind folks that this is NOT a race… it is not first come, first served. I need to go through all applications received, respond to everyone then interview those that I think are likely to be good candidates.

These cuties are expected in early September and should all be black and white parti and or Irish pied. Both parents are fully health tested (CHIC available on OFA) and wonderful dispositions.
